Work will be cancelled in case of heavy rain. If it looks like rain call 724-263-0110 (the contractor) to find out if he will be working.
There will be one person on duty at each side of the work area.
You will be positioned where you can see the operator and operator can see you and the waiting bicyclists.
You will stop bicyclists and there are two options for allowing passage
1) get the attention of the operator, and when he signals okay, allow the cyclists to go through.
2) Work with the operator before hand and determine positions and actions that are safe to allow passage. When the equipment is in that position, allow the cyclists to go through.
When you have the cyclists stopped, talk to them about what you are doing, ask for their help, and hand them a poster.
Chairs will be provided. Bring an umbrella in case of a sprinkle.
As the work area moves, the you will move the sign, chairs and other stuff so that you are out of the way, but close enough to see the equipment operator.
You may also want to consider where there is sunshine (in the morning) and shade (afternoon)
Dress for the weather, you will get cold sitting still for four hours.
Bring hat, sunscreen, water/soda/snacks. No alcohol permitted.
